After weeks of speculation it has just been announced that the performer bets known as Alberto Del Rio in the WWE has been let go by the company. Alberto (real name Jose Rodriguez) has mutually agreed with the company to go their separate ways once more.
The Mexican superstar has recently been suspended alongside real life girlfriend and co worker Paige for an apparent violation of the companies Wellness Policy. It has been speculated for weeks that this may be the last straw for both parties as Del Rio had not been used in a high profile story line for some time and this portion of his WWE career had not been as eventful as his first when he won several World titles and big matches such as the Royal Rumble.
It’s a shame to see Del Rio’s second stint not work out the way it could have, his return raised any questions in the first place as he had returned after some very controversial circumstances surrounding his initial release from the company that involved alleged racism against Del Rio in which he assaulted a WWE employee in retaliation and was fired for the violent conduct.
We are sure that Alberto will bounce right back though, just as he did last time in several prominent roles in the North American independent scene with companies such as ROH and Lucha Underground.
