WWE came to London with some big news for British Wrestling fans as legendary British wrestler Johnny Saint announced to fans in attendance at the Royal Albert Hall for night one of the 2018 WWE United Kingdom Tournament that the company would be launching their own permanent UK division. The wrestling giants have been flirting with the British scene quite a bit in recent years with the first United Kingdom Championship Tournament taking place last January in Blackpool and building up a relationship with several of the key players in the thriving British scene such as ICW and Progress Wrestling as well as integrating the United Kingdom Championship matches into NXT.

Triple H went on to then give a good amount of information on the new UK brand stating that there would be a NXT UK Women’s division and NXT UK Tag Team division to go alongside the already established WWE UK mens singles championship. The former World Champion also announced that the company had already planned tapings over the next few months around the UK and told the live audience that Johnny Saint would be the brand’s General Manager.
