Foo Fighters confirm Glastonbury headline slot during acceptance speech

The Foo Fighters will be returning to Glastonbury for the first time since 1998 this year when they headline the Pyramid stage. Dave Grohl & the gang were accepting an award via a video and explained to fans “Sorry we couldn’t make it tonight, but we will be seeing you over the summer at some big outdoor festival that nobody knows we’re playing” at which point drummer Taylor Hawkins made a joking cough gesture disguising the word “Glastonbury” within it before Dave himself confirmed it by ending with “We’ll see you at Glastonbury” and continuing to thank their fans.
Festival organisers were pleased to announce it themselves with a statement from Emily Eavis saying “We feel incredibly lucky to have confirmed the Foo Fighters for the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this year. Very few bands have the power to unite and energise a crowd like Foo Fighters do. We can’t wait for them to rock Worthy Farm on Friday night.”
Tickets have been sold out since October but there may be chance for Foo’s fans that missed out since the festival have confirmed that there is likely to be a resale of any cancelled and returned tickets following April’s ticket balance payment window.
