AEW announce second Forbidden Door show with NJPW to take place in Canada

Wrestling fans were thrilled to get a co-promoted show between two of the biggest promotions in the world last year, and now we’re being given a 2023 edition. All Elite Wrestling have announced Forbidden Door will be taking place on Sunday 25th June in co-operation with New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The first collaboration event between AEW and NJPW took place on American soil, this lead to fans wondering if a sequel would take place in Japan. It turns out that neither of those locations would be given the privilege, because the highly anticipated event will now be part of a six-show AEW tour of Canada. The summer tour will also include live Dynamites, a live Rampage, and a house show, with the Pay-Per-View taking place in Toronto.

The first Forbidden Door event was hit with a number of unfortunate set-backs with quite a few injuries meaning the card would end up changing quite often. The show itself was still very well received though, and the depths of both rosters was a huge benefit when it came to trying to work around those booking challenges. Let’s hope that this year’s show can be one featuring the first choice card that each company would like to put forward. We are sure the performers will be eager to impress either way.
