WWE suspend Paige again, this time for 60 days

It has just been announced that WWE have suspended Paige, this time for 60 Days for her second wellness policy in just two months. The company suspended the female wrestler in August along with her real life boyfriend Alberto Del Rio, who has since left the company. The reason behind this suspension being longer than her previous suspension of 30 days isn’t a reflection of whatever it is behind the policy failure but down to company policy with suspensions of this nature, as a “second strike” generally leads to a longer suspension than the first offence.

The couple have been caught up in a series of unusual events surrounding the suspensions. The British performer recently released a statement following online rumours about her previous suspension getting out of hand in which she said:

Although I was disappointed by my suspension, I respect the WWE’s Wellness Policy. However, let me be clear that I was not suspended for failing a drug test, it was merely due to a procedural issue. I took the test, I passed it. I arranged said test to happen after I wasn’t at my home when Aegis contacted me. So I drove 200 miles to do it. Unfortunately I didn’t do it in time, according to Aegis. Once again, thank you for all the love and support.

Since Alberto left the company he has also been in headlines for allegedly being stabbed, something that lead to him cancelling an appearance in his native Mexico for AAA.

It is unclear at the moment wether or not any of these past incidents both with wellness violations and Del Rio’s career move have been linked at all, but this new information wether connection or not is sure to raise eyebrows yet again. Paige has posted some tweets that may allude to the suspension.

She then followed it up with the potentially controversial tweet of

We do hope that whatever it is behind these recent doesn’t negatively impact the careers of two brilliant talents from the world of Pro Wrestling.
