Static X founder Wayne Static passes away with speculation of overdose

There is sad news coming out of the rock world today with the announcement that Wayne Static, founding member for the platinum selling band Static X has passed away at just 48. While there has not been any official announcement regarding the cause of death there has been speculation that it may be due to an overdose since Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix mentioned that

Too many musicians are dying overdoses.

He went on to urge anyone struggling with addiction to seek help and how he himself has struggled with addiction and is glad to be on the other side.

Wayne had only days earlier announced an upcoming tour with Powerman 5000 and another with Drowning Pool.

Whatever the circumstances of Wayne’s untimely passing we would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the loved ones and fans that have been left behind. Static X hold a special place in many hearts of those in the rock community after heir climb to success in the late 90s and early 2000s during the peak of the Nu metal movement.
