It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we have to announce the very sad news this morning that Scott Weiland, formerly of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, has died at the age of just 48.
According to reports, the vocalist passed away in his sleep while on tour with his band, The Wildabouts, in Minnesota. A post on his official instagram account reads: “Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts. At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott’s family be respected.”
Scott’s wife, Jamie, also confirmed the news to the LA Times with the quote: “I can’t deal with this right now. It’s true.”
Everyone at Rebellious Noise would like to send our thoughts and condolences to the friends and family of Scott at this incredibly difficult time.
