Conor McGregor makes history at UFC 205

It was already a history making event before the event had even taken place with Madison Square Garden being the host to the UFC for the first time in its history after years of back and forth in the early days of the sport.

The ‘Worlds most famous arena’ has seen a lot of amazing moments in sports and entertainment but this recent fear by the ‘Notorious’ one will go down as one of the most impressive. Conor McGregor defeated Eddie Alvarez in the second round of their ‘Champion vs Champion’ bout.

McGregor becomes the first fighter in UFC history to simultaneously hold two UFC World Championships after already being the Featherweight Champion and now also becoming the Lightweight Champion.
There was some controversy however, a moment that had clearly played out in the Irishmans mind for months was slightly delayed as officials scrambled to find both belts for McGregor to raise on both shoulders, something he had promised his fans.

When asked about the fight, the Notorious one said “Eddie is a warrior but he shouldn’t be in there with me. I am a different level. Now, I celebrate as champion of two divisions.” And also exclaimed that nobody was on his level when asked what was next for the double Champion.
